Activity Description

Opioid use disorder has a significant impact on the quality of life. It is an epidemic in the United States. The persistent use of opioids should be diagnosed and treated promptly. This activity reviews the evaluation and management of opioid use disorder and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in improving care for patients with this condition.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:

  • Identify the etiology of opioid use disorder medical conditions and emergencies.
  • Outline the appropriate evaluation of opioid use disorder.
  • Review the management options available for opioid use disorder.
  • Describe interprofessional team strategies for improving care coordination and communication to advance opioid use disorder and improve outcomes.

I wish the tests, not only for this activity, would be reflective only of the material taught. I hate seeing questions that involve material not discussed during the original presentation. If you want me to pick up some information, you should offer the info in the paper/lecture, not as a question in the post test.
